Welcome Miti!

We're thrilled to welcome Miti Patel to our Toronto office as our newest Civil E.I.T.

Miti Patel was in search of a new fit for her career, and Design Works was able to provide just that.

“I was like ‘Okay, this aligns very well with me,’” Miti said of the Civil E.I.T. role she began earlier this week.

Her career in civil engineering started by earning her Bachelor of Engineering in 2020, working in the field for 2 years before arriving in Canada to further her education and pursue international opportunities. She entered the Master’s program at Carleton University, falling in love with Ottawa in the process.

“That town is so peaceful,” Miti said.

After receiving her Master’s in Civil Engineering, Miti continued to sharpen her skills, designing civil engineering drawings for a large variety of projects.

“I mostly worked on residential, but I also like to work on (mixed-use) developments, because it’s way more technical and way more complex,” Miti said.

Her proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is fueled by the drive to learn and challenge herself. That’s what drew her to Design Works, where complex projects are a constant byproduct of our multidisciplinary approach.

“Everything goes in the same company,” Miti said. “So that’s really exciting.”

A self-professed movie fan, Miti is also excited to kick back later this fall when the new season of Stranger Things is released.
