Safety Is Non-Negotiable

At Design Works Engineering, safety isn't a program we run — it's a standard we hold. Every person on our team is empowered to raise a concern, stop a task, or question a practice that doesn't look right, regardless of where they are or who owns the site. We work in environments where decisions made at a desk directly affect people building on the ground, so our engineers design with constructability and site safety in mind — identifying hazards before they become incidents, not after. When someone on our team sees something unsafe, they have both the right and the responsibility to speak up. Our goal is zero incidents, because every person on a project deserves to go home the same way they arrived.

COR Certified

Design Works Engineering is COR™ Certified — a Certificate of Recognition that is among the most rigorous, nationally recognized safety standards in Canada. COR isn't a self-declared designation. It requires a comprehensive health and safety management system, full implementation across the organization, and regular third-party audits to verify compliance. Maintaining the certification means our safety program is held to an externally validated benchmark every year — a signal to clients, partners, and our team that safety at Design Works isn't managed by intention. It's managed by a system.
