Welcome to the team, Moses!

We're excited to welcome Moses Lugtu to the team as a Structural E.I.T.

Not everyone can say engineering is in their blood, but Moses Lugtu is more than able.

“My family has a background in engineering,” Moses said. “My father was a civil engineer, and my brothers are all structural engineers.

“Maybe it’s in our family blood,” he said, laughing.

Moses joined Design Works as a Structural E.I.T. earlier this month. He worked in engineering for 19 years in the Philippines, focusing mainly in oil and gas, petrochemicals, and building design. He equates engineering to working with a jigsaw puzzle.

“You will not see the answer in front of you,” Moses said. “Engineering is complex, but if you learn how to love it you will see the beauty in it."

After arriving in Canada in 2021, Moses made stops in Waterloo and Prince George before joining the Edmonton office at Design Works. He’s looking forward to working with the team, as well as taking the necessary steps to secure his P.Eng designation.

The move to Edmonton not only furthers Moses’ career, it brings his family back together. His wife Jennebeth also works in Edmonton as a P.Eng. And if their daughter someday works in the field, let’s just say we wouldn’t be surprised.
